It was done by Ernst Heyn, a well-known landscape artist who has images in galleries and publications all over Europe. AND it teaches one something new about the natural world: the Victoria lilly pad of the Amazon basin can reach diameters up to three meters. It’s incredibly fragile, but if one is to spread weight out over the surface, with plywood, say, it can support up to 70 lbs! Quick math: how many lilly pads does it take to support an Amazon queen warrior?
